Luke Hansen scored a pair of second-half touchdowns and rushed for 182 yards to provide the most offense for both teams as Class 4A No. 2 Royals (2-0) broke 0-0 in the first half to emptying the visiting flashes (1-1). Roncale gave only 76 yards of total attack to Franklin Central in a defensive fight.

Malachi Mink ran for a pair of touchdowns to help first-year head coach Casey Gillin take a road win for the Braves (2-0) over Woodmen (1-1). Franklin made the most of an 85-yard kick-off for Caleb Owens and a 19-yard TD run by quarterback Clay Bennick to erase Mount Vernon’s 17-10 lead at halftime.
