In Russia, border areas with Ukraine are on a war footing. Russian military trucks are visible everywhere. Warning sirens and the sound of cannons echo in the small village of Chebekino (Russia), five kilometers from Ukraine. Residents take shelter in the entrance halls. Others don’t wait until the shooting is over. Their building was attacked a few days ago. The village has experienced frequent shootings for months, now daily. More than half the population has left and the movement is accelerating.
Like Sebekino, Belgorod, a Russian city of 300,000 people, is banned. Officials are constantly building new apartments. There are some everywhere. A supermarket installed anti-drone nets on the roof. An anti-terrorist operation regime was established in the Belgorod region, but also in Kursk and Bryansk.
