The opening of the Mets-Nationals series on October 3 has been postponed

NEW YORK – While the Mets were looking forward to a final round of Eastern National League Heading, they find both the Braves and local weather patterns blocking their path.

The series’ opening game Monday against the Nationals was postponed due to steady rain that fell across the tri-state region throughout the afternoon and evening. Teams plan to make up the game as part of a double-header for a single entry on Tuesday starting at 4:10 p.m. ET.

Double-header Carlos Carrasco and Taiguan Walker will start in some standings for the Mets, who entered the week needing to win all three games against the Nationals to stand a chance of winning the NL East title.
