Steve Kerr explains the “gut feeling” about what went wrong with the Warriors’ collapse

Date:

The Warriors has a game win 1 in hand until a Fourth quarter collapse It led to them losing their first game at Chase Center.

Lead 92-80 heading into the fourth quarter of Game 1 of the NBA Finalsthe Boston Celtics beat Golden State 40-16 in the final frame to end their 120-108 victory on the road.

After the match, Warriors coach Steve Kerr gave credit for it.

“I’ll give them credit, they made 21 hat-tricks, they were moving the ball really well and they were on our heels,” Kerr told reporters after the match. “They made a good push to start fourth and keep that momentum going. It will be hard to beat Boston if they hit 21 triples and get a combined 11 of [Al] Horford and [Derrick] white.

“These guys, give them credit, they beat every big shot in the fourth quarter. Boston just played a great quarter, and they came in and took the win.”

The Warriors and Celtics collected 40 three-pointers, a record for an NBA Finals.

If the Warriors are to bounce back and win Game Two on Sunday, they will need to limit damage from playmakers outside of Tatum and forward Jaylene Brown.
