Cincinnati – There is a potential for disruption to the fermentation process in Cincinnati. The visiting Steelers, aided by four Bengals turnovers, took a 17-6 lead over the defending champions in the first half.
The Pittsburgh defense scored three first-half interceptions from Joe Burrow, including a Minkah Fitzpatrick pick-six in the game’s opening minutes. The Steelers cemented their lead to 17-3 after Mitch Trubesky hit Nagy Harris on a 1-yard touchdown pass midway through the second quarter. The result was determined by TJ Watt’s interception for Burrow, who had not made multiple interceptions before Sunday’s first-half game.
Cincinnati’s best first-half player was held back by Joe Mixon, who scored 31 yards in a fourth play and one Evan McPherson’s second field goal before the break. Mixon ran for 67 yards on 15 carts in the first 30 minutes of the game. The Bengals suffered a loss when receiver Tee Higgins left the match after suffering a heavy blow. Higgins came out with a concussion.
