Organized criminologist Peter R. De Vries was shot dead Wednesday night and was struggling to stay alive.
Peter R. De Vries was in the early hours of Wednesday evening between life and death. This brilliant Dutch journalist, an expert in criminal affairs, was the victim of an assassination attempt when he left a television studio in the center of Amsterdam on Tuesday evening. According to witnesses, five bullets were fired, one of which hit him in the head. The 64-year-old has been transferred to Amsterdam Hospital, whose name has not been released. Three people, including an 18-year-old man, were arrested in the evening. The other two – a 35-year-old pole and a 21-year-old Dutchman from Rotterdam – are still under investigation.
