Sony announced a new model of the popular PlayStation 5 DualSense console at Gamescom today. Gamescom host Geoff Keighley called the DualSense Edge a “high-performance, highly customizable” gamepad.
Of all the things that marked the PS5 launch, few impressed more than DualSense. Not only does it have a heft not found in its predecessor, the PlayStation 4’s DualShock 4, it also has nice touches in everything – including the pressure-sensitive triggers.

But DualSense wasn’t perfect. Keighley said the new DualSense Edge will have “custom control profiles, tailored to your playing style”. You’ll also be able to completely replace the stick units, which should address any stuck controller drift issues, and can swap out stick covers and backstraps.
Also, it features a snazzy jet black touch pad. (About a year after the release of the PS5, Sony has unveiled the official jet-black console coversalong with a handful of other colors.) In some ways, the DualSense Edge looks like Sony’s answer Highly customizable Xbox Elite controller. As one of the best gamepads on the market, Elite Series 2 retails for $179.
Sony did not announce Release date or price for the DualSense Edge.
