If you didn’t know… “Shahs of Sunset” follows a group of Persian Americans as they navigate their social lives and jobs in Los Angeles – all while trying to meet the demands of their families and the traditions of their Shah.
The series premiered with controversy… Concern grew within the Iranian-American community that the show would promote a very stereotypical message to the world.
Cast members have said that the series portrays a more “American” version of the Persians, comparing their similarities to the “brutal” portrayal in modern films such as 2012’s “Argo.”
We have reached out to the Bravo rep…so far, no word has been received.
