One person was killed and fourteen others were injured when two local trains collided near Munich in southern Germany on Monday (February 14), police said. Two trains collided this afternoon in the Ebenhausen-Schäftlarn station area south of the Bavarian capital.

Local media footage showed passengers getting off the tracks after the collision, with a car partially derailed.

The cause of the accident is not yet known, police said. According to media reports, the two passenger trains collided head-on.

According to the Built newspaper, a total of 95 people traveled on both trains. More than 200 emergency personnel were at the site in the early hours of the morning, police said.
