(CNN) – It may have been a week since the accession of King Charles III of Britain crownedbut the palace is still releasing anecdotes from the big day, this time in the form of two newly released photos taken after the coronation.

In one of the photos, Charles is pictured with his eldest son, William, Prince of Wales and his grandson, Prince George, in the throne room at Buckingham Palace.

The King is fully clothed, the royal robes and imperial state crown, while holding the Sovereign’s Orb and Scepter with the Cross. He is seated on one of the two throne chairs made for the future King George V and Queen Mary for use at the coronation of King Edward VII in 1902.

In the second image, Charles and his wife, Queen Camilla, are shown with eight pages of honor and ladies who helped them during the coronation.

Charles and Camilla were crowned on May 6, in a magnificent and very religious ceremony in Westminster Abbey.

The coronation – a symbolic gathering of the monarchy, church and state – was attended by dignitaries from all over the world, and thousands of people gathered in the streets of London to watch the processions to and from the abbey. This was Britain’s first coronation in 70 years.

Charles immediately became king in September when his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, died at the age of 96. It was the longest reign in British history.
