Hannah Lynch’s sister Esme described her sister as “endlessly caring, passionately crazy, and unintentionally funny” in an emotional tribute released this afternoon.
Relatives and friends of Hannah and Mike Lynch, who died after their luxury yacht sank off the coast of Sicily, have previously said they were “devastated”, adding that “taking an 18-year-old girl to the brink of death” was “unbelievably cruel”.
Tributes have poured in for the couple after the body of the last missing person, believed to be Hannah, was recovered from the beach on Friday.
The Baysian ship sank in a storm near the Sicilian capital Palermo on Monday during a voyage to celebrate Mr Lynch’s acquittal in a fraud case in the United States.
The six people who disappeared are British technology entrepreneur and his daughter Hannah, Morgan Stanley International chairman Jonathan Plummer and his wife Judy Plummer, and Clifford Chance lawyer Chris Morvillo and his wife Nida Morvillo.
Of the 22 passengers and crew on board, 15 people — including Lynch’s wife Angela Pakaris — were rescued after escaping in a lifeboat. The death of chef Ricaldo Tomas was confirmed on Monday, while the bodies of the six missing were recovered from the wreckage later in the week.
Who was on Bayesian?
British tech mogul Mike Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter Hannah were among those initially unidentified after his luxury yacht, the Paisian, sank in a storm off the coast of Sicily in the early hours of Monday morning.
After a decade-long legal battle that saw him extradited to the US to face an $11 billion fraud case, Mr Lynch celebrated by inviting his close friends, colleagues and those who helped him in his legal team on board his boat as a gesture of gratitude.
