It comes at the forefront of its attempt to pledge tax cuts. “Under my leadership, I will start cutting taxes from day one to take immediate action to help people deal with the cost of living,” she wrote.
Truss held several ministerial positions, including Secretary of State. She was also the lead negotiator with the European Union on the Brexit deal.
In her editorial, Truss highlighted her experience in foreign policy as well as her domestic experience.
Truss is part of an increasingly crowded field vying to replace Johnson. Other candidates include Treasury Secretary Nazim Zahawi, Transportation Secretary Grant Shapps, former Chancellor Rishi Sunak, Senior Conservative Representative Tom Tugendhat, Attorney General Suila Braverman, former Equality Minister Kimi Badenouch, former Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt, former Health Minister Sajid Javid, and Trade Penny Mordaunt.
