Russia not ready for talks, says Kiev

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said during his visit to China on Wednesday that his country would only hold talks with Russia “in good faith” when it is ready to do so.

During his meeting with Chinese Prime Minister Wang Yi, Mr. Kuleba reiterated Ukraine’s position that it is “ready to negotiate with the Russian side (…) while Russia is ready to negotiate in good faith”. Ukrainian diplomacy says that “the Russian side does not want to do this at the moment.”

Two injured in Moscow

The probe into Wednesday morning’s car bomb blast in Moscow has been handed over to investigators in charge of “particularly sensitive” files, the Russian capital’s investigative committee said, as confusion over the identities of the two injured men continued.

Several media outlets, including state agency TASS, initially said the victims were a Russian military officer and his wife, but the latter, Andrei Torkashov, denied any injuries to other media outlets.

The Moscow Investigative Committee “has been handed over for investigation to the Criminal Case First Department for investigation of particularly important cases,” the organization indicated in a telegram without further details of the incident.

Hello everyone

Hello everyone in this live broadcast dedicated to the war in Ukraine from July 24.

Ukraine used drones to attack a boat in its port on the Kerch Strait, which separates Russia from the more secure region of Crimea, killing one person and injuring four others, Russian regional authorities said on Tuesday.

Four injured people, two of them in critical condition, have been hospitalized, officials in Krasnodar, in southwestern Russia, said.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Army, for its part, announced that its Navy “Inflicted significant damage on enemy cargo ship Slavian”WHO “Used to transport military supplies”.

According to Russian news agency TASS, the attack was carried out using aerial drones that struck 12 kilometers as the crow flies from the Crimean bridge, a key Russian structure that has already been targeted by Ukraine several times.

The ship was in the port of the Caucasus on the Kerch Strait, which provides a ferry link between mainland Russia and the Crimean peninsula, which was annexed by Moscow in 2014. Cargo also passes through this port.
