Gedish confirmed the news in a statement to TVLine.

I have been very fortunate to be a part of Law and order family for the past 12 years. There is simply no other character on TV like Rollins. I’ve grown and changed, and so am I. I started on this show when I was in my late twenties and am grateful to have had so many years of adulthood with Rollins in my life.
“I would like to thank Dick Wolf, Mariska Hargitay, Warren Light, Peter Jankowski, NBC, World Television, all my co-stars, every crew member and all writers here for our amazing work together over the past 12 years,” Jedish continued. NBC declined to comment for this story.
NBC also does not comment on How Giddish will be written out, but SVU An insider reveals that Rollins will face a traumatic event early in Season 24 – although it’s unclear if the incident set the stage for her ouster. One thing is for sure: her absence will have major repercussions for Peter Scanavino’s Carisi, who Rollins lives with romantically linked.
