dear readers,
Since starting The Daily, our flagship news podcast, in 2017, audio has become an increasingly vital part of our journalism.
Today we are excited to announce the launch of New York Times AudioAnd A new app brings together our ever-growing list of audio journalism in one place, so listeners can cut through the noise and find the stories that matter to them. Listeners will find podcasts hosted by our correspondents, dispatches from our correspondents around the world, cooking tips from recipe authors and much more.
Our goal is New York Times Audio to become our “front page of audio,” bringing listeners to today’s most important stories in ways that sound original, urgent, and accessible.
New York Times Audio is included with the Times News subscription. In addition to our podcasts, here are some of what you’ll find when you download the app:
-
“Headlines,” a new show that lasts less than 10 minutes, in which Times reporters discuss three of the biggest stories of the day.
-
Short pieces from correspondents of our culture and lifestyles offer surprise and delight, from guided tours through the latest pop music to an ode to the magic of “Goodnight Moon.”
-
Reporter Reads Our reporters describe how they found their stories and what surprised them as they covered the stories, and then read the stories aloud.
-
Athletic A collection of sports podcasts.
-
The archived collection of This American Life, the historical podcast, plus new episodes every weekend.
-
Magazine journalism from major publishers outside The Times, read by professional storytellers.
The Times’ mission is to help our readers understand the world. We are honored to do the same for our listeners.
If you’re not familiar with Times audio journalism, here are some of the works we’re most proud of:
You can find it all in the New York Times Audio, plus many, many more stories we publish every day. Download the app here.
