Instagram restricts Kanye West's account, deletes content - The Hollywood Reporter

A Meta spokesperson confirms to THR That the company deleted the content from the Instagram account of the rapper who uses @kanyewest. Additionally, although the account is still visible, restrictions have been placed on it, according to the representative. Meta has a policy of placing restrictions on users after repeated violations, which may temporarily prevent a user from sharing posts, writing comments, or sending direct messages.

A Meta representative did not specify what content was withdrawn or how long the restriction would last.

On Friday, the artist returned to Twitter after a long hiatus, criticizing META chief Mark Zuckerberg and chirp, in part, “How did I go about Instagram.” Elon Musk, from this week Confirmed plans to buy Twitter, replied to West’s tweet by posting, “Welcome back to Twitter, my friend!”

This comes after West recently posted on Instagram an exchange allegedly between him and Diddy in which West used language that other social media users have criticized as anti-Semitic. The post has since been deleted.

West also received backlash for comments he made regarding Jared Kushner During the rapper’s recent appearance On Fox News Tucker Carlson tonight which was seen as perpetuating Jewish stereotypes.

The American Jewish Committee has taken the advocacy group to Instagram Friday to condemn the West for “loud statements filled with racism and anti-Semitism” and “anti-Jewish publications”.

This is not the first time that the star has been criticized for his presence on social media. In March, his Instagram account was suspended for 24 hours After he published targeting sedition daily offer Host Trevor Noah.
