I only went to Darius at school or if I was in trouble. Once I got into the NFL people started calling me Darius. I hate it, but when I got in as a rookie, , I thought they didn’t want a newbie to come and tell him to call him a different name. So, I went with him.”
Even after winning Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2018, Leonard hasn’t talked about his wishes. Now, as his fifth season begins, he has finally announced his position.
“Coming into a freshman year, I’m talking to him [Hall of Fame wide receiver] Leonard, Randy Moss, said the best advice he could give me was to keep your mouth shut and your ears and eyes open. “So, I came and worked. “But I like to be called Shaquille and hate to be called Darius. I understand it would be difficult, but I would love for you to try calling me Shaquille or ‘D’ or ‘crazy’ and not Darius.”

He first explained about his condition, explaining that two discs in his back were collide with two nerves, thus causing pain in the lower leg.
