If, like us, you’ve been waiting to jump back into the Subset Games sci-fi strategy RPG, in the breachThen today is your lucky day. A brand new update, dubbed “Advanced Edition”, has been dropped today and promises to expand the excellent turn-based tactical title in various ways.
Combining new mechanics, weapons, challenges and pilots, the free update will appeal to both new players and long-term fans who have been playing since the game launched in 2018. Those pesky Vek won’t know what hit them!
For a summary of what’s included in the update, check out the official release for the subset below:
New Mechanisms and Weapons: Five new mech squads and nearly forty new weapons.
New Challenges: More enemies, more bosses, and more mission objectives that add extra challenge and variety to any race.
New Pilot Abilities: The expanded roster includes four new pilots and three times the amount of skills any pilot can gain through upgrades.
While the new update sounds exciting, it seems that the way to install it may require a small amount of tactics in and of itself. Don’t worry, this isn’t as complicated as dealing alone with a space treasure, but if the update doesn’t download automatically, you may have to open the game options on the Nintendo Switch home screen and manually check for a system update.

Now this may not sound like a video game cocktail you might want to try, but trust us, it’s worth taking a sip. This new update comes at the same time as the release of the mobile version of the game on Apple and Android. with Physical release scheduled for October this year2022 is shaping up to be a significant year for The Breach.
