Holland shared a video on his official Instagram account and said he had been struggling for about an hour trying to come up with the words he was going to use.

“I’ve taken a break from social media for my mental health because I find Instagram and Twitter to be over-stimulating, and overwhelming,” he said in his first ad. “I get busy and deteriorate when I read things about me online and in the end, this is very harmful to my mental state. So I decided to take a step back and delete the app.”

His “short return to Instagram” was to spread awareness of the charity stem4, an educational program that helps young children manage their mental health.

He added: “There is a terrible stigma against mental health, and I know that asking for help and asking for help is not something we should be ashamed of but it is something that is easier said than done.”

Holland said he tried all four of the apps in the program and they were “awesome” and “really useful”.

Before ending the video, the actor said that he would “be gone from Instagram again” and added, “Thank you for your love and support. I love you all and I will talk to you soon.”
