“I accept this decision” to postpone her stay in Las Vegas – Deadline

Date:

to me AdeleThe decision to postpone her stay in Las Vegas is now water under the bridge.

The British singer, who is topping two shows at BST Hyde Park this weekend, said BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island discs moving forward with its planned Las Vegas stay at the Caesars Palace earlier this year were out of the question, saying the show simply didn’t live up to its standards.

The concerts were initially scheduled to begin on Friday, January 21 and run through mid-April. Postponements without any makeup dates are still a sore point for many Adele fans and critics.

“I was definitely disappointed and devastated by everyone and was afraid of letting them down, and I thought I could put it together and make it work and I just couldn’t, and I’m sticking with that decision,” she told the BBC’s interview.

She acknowledged that the reaction was “brutal” from angry fans at spending money on travel and hotels, not to mention taking time off work. This anger left her “coincidence of a person for two months”.

She added, “You can’t buy me, you can’t buy me for nothing. I’m not going to do a show just because I have to or because people are going to let down or because we’re going to lose a lot of money. I’m like, ‘The show isn’t good enough.'”

There is not yet a planned date for what is claimed to be a “postponement”. The stage sets for the planned show were insignificant, according to reports, and the venue has moved forward with other artists.

“I won’t update you if I don’t have anything to tell you, because that only leads to more frustration.”

The reason for the cancellation of the shows remains unclear. Initially Adele blamed the pandemic, saying, “Half of my team, half of my team has COVID – they still are – and it was impossible to finish the show.” Later, it was reported that there were professional clashes between Adele and the production team over a 60-person choir and a pool from which the singer would rise on stage.

London Shows, in London’s Hyde Park, featured a lineup of female artists entirely, highlighted by Casey Musgraves.
