Four members of the most powerful Hinduja family in India and the UK were acquitted by a Swiss court on Friday, June 21, of human trafficking charges. However, they were sentenced to long prison terms for exploiting Indian servants in their villa. Lawyers said their clients, who did not immediately reach a verdict, would appeal.

Father Prakash Hinduja (78) and his wife Kamal (75) were sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison, their son Ajay (56) and daughter-in-law Namrata (50). Four years, in the absence of four defendants, the president of the court in Geneva, Sabina Muscoto, pointed out.
