Left, environmental, center, right or extreme right? Which parties came out on top in each of the 27 member states of the European Union in the 2024 European elections? Nearly 360 million Europeans are called to the polls between June 6 and 9, 2024, to elect the next 720 MEPs to the European Parliament. Here are the results by country in Europe.
Results in France
Estimates – According to early estimates, Jordan Bardella’s far-right party has won a historic victory in the European elections. With 31.5 to 32.4% of the vote according to Ipsos and Ifop, the National Rally achieved its best score in a national election (excluding the second round). Outgoing MEP Valerie Heyer’s Macronist list trailed far behind with less than half of the vote at 15.2%. He is not fully assured of a second place finish, followed by Raphael Glucksmann (PS-Place Publique) with 14 to 14.3%, more than double his 2019 result.
Behind, Manon Aubry’s La France Insumais improved its score compared to previous Europeans (8.3 to 8.7%). Led by François-Xavier Bellamy, Les Républicains did not fare well at 7 to 7.2%, slightly above Marion Maréchal’s Reconquête list and the 5% needed to send representatives to the European Parliament. The big surprise of the 2019 election was this year’s list of environmentalists led by Marie Toussaint, announced by companies in deep decline.
