Elon Musk Spots Housecleaning Twitter HQ #StayWoke T-shirts, Vows To 'Earn Confidence'

Elon Musk, continue Twitter fixOn Tuesday, he said he found a locker full of “#StayWoke” T-shirts at the company’s headquarters.

In the Twitter post, Musk shared a video A closet with shelves stacked with #StayWoke T-shirts.

“Here we are in the market…and there’s an entire closet full of hashtag wake up t-shirts,” he says.

“Super closet,” someone says off camera.

When asked to explain his shirt, Dorsey said the meaning has evolved over time but “for me…it’s really perceptive, staying informed, continuing to wonder.”

“To be awake, with your eyes open about what’s going on in the world,” Dorsey said.

He then described what he saw as discrepancies in the coverage of the 2014 Ferguson unrest versus the reality on the ground.

“For me, that was when I actually saw that phrase for the first time — I was making sure we were telling our story, telling what was on the ground, and we saw it live via Twitter,” he said.

In the past few years, the phrase has come to symbolize an embrace of progressive activism. With the advent of cancel culture, many have interpreted the word “wake up” to describe people who would rather silence their critics than listen to them.

Musk’s takeover of Twitter late last month, after a back-to-back legal battle, was hailed among conservative circles — many of whom have been banned from Twitter — as a shift in the tide against “awakened” culture and ideology.

Musk himself has been critical of “vigilance”. Earlier this year it is Netflix ripped Like having a “wake up mind” virus making subscription live broadcasts “unwatchable”.

In another, he jokingly tweeted his idea for a new game called “Woketopia… Battle for the Moral High Ground”.

Early Wednesday, Musk vowed that Twitter would “earn more and more over time” people’s trust “because we’re getting closer to the truth.”
