Donald Trump says he has a “real problem” with the judge presiding over his criminal trial in New York

The former US president asserts that he “does not have the right to a fair trial” in a criminal trial.

Former President Donald Trump said he had a “real problem” with the judge at a hearing in New York on Monday, once again denouncing the entire affair as a “witch hunt.”

“We are not going to have the right to a fair trial,” said Mr. Trump told reporters that his first criminal trial began on Monday, a historic event for a former US president. “We have a real problem with this judge.”

“Political Persecution” and “Witch Hunt”

Donald Trump on Monday became the first former US president to appear in a criminal court in a trial in New York that could end less than six months into his election battle against Joe Biden.

As usual, shortly before the trial in Manhattan court, the Republican candidate denounced the “political harassment” planned by the administration of the Democratic president, calling his trial “an attack on America.”

The billionaire is being sued for paying ex-porn star Stormy Daniels to buy her silence in the days before the 2016 election against Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.
