Freddy Roman — An NYC comedian, OG comedian, and beloved personality in the entertainment world has passed away… TMZ has learned.
The actor/writer/producer and all-around funny man passed away Saturday afternoon at Boynton Beach, Florida, hospital after suffering a heart attack earlier this morning at his country home…according to his daughter, Judy Levine.
We are told he died in bed with his family around him, including his wife of 63 years, Ethelwho was with him to the end.
Roman is probably best remembered as one of the Friars Club frontmen – he was once the head of the famous New York City club, which has granted membership to a slew of comedians/celebrities over the years. FR was the dean dating back to the 90’s even Larry King succeeded him in 2014.
Roman was a seasoned and seasoned stand-up comedian himself, who has performed at countless high-profile venues over the years… including Caesars Palace in Vegas and Harrah’s in Atlantic City, among others. Roman has also been a part of several big roasts across Comedy Central.

Roman has also starred in a number of shows and movies, including “Red Oaks,” “The Comedian,” “Bittersweet,” “Law & Order: Criminal Intentions,” “Finding North,” “Sweet Lorraine,” and more. He is also famous for writing and starring in the acclaimed play, ‘The Catskills on Broadway’.
Freddy continued to do well in his later years, and has been a fixture in New York comedy for a very long time. He was survived by his wife and daughter … Roman was 85 years old.
