Besides Damd, Final Fight fans think they've discovered another character from the series in Street Fighter 6

The world of Street Fighter is very rich with interesting characters and ideas that aren’t often explored in the games themselves although Street Fighter 6 seems to change that up a bit.

With Metro City playing a bigger role in the story of World Tour of SF6, it should come as no surprise that we’ll likely see some Final Fight characters hanging around more than just Damd/Thrasher.

In the trailer for the upcoming Street Fighter 6 Showcase, some Final Fight fans and users of this site pointed out a familiar face from the series that players will likely interact with.

About 12 seconds into the video, a man appears in a blue suit with long hair and a sword on his back, who appears to be Carlos Miyamoto.

Carlos appeared as one of the three playable characters from Final Fight 2, but he never really got the same amount of play outside of that game that Mackey and Mike Haggar have enjoyed over the years (along with Cody, Guy, Poisson, and Hugo).

As far as we can tell, Carlos has never really appeared in Street Fighter aside from a brief cameo in the 1995 Western cartoon where he never actually says a word.

Now, it’s not 100% clear that this guy is actually the Brazilian fencer, but even if he isn’t, this guy is at least a direct reference to him 30 years after he first appeared.

Mad Gear villain Damd was shown off in the first full trailer for SF6, so we know the men of Final Fight are technically out there somewhere. It was just a question of whether we would actually be able to see and interact with them.

Having Carlos to be a story NPC that grants player missions created to take on the gang is pretty cool and makes us hope Capcom leans more into their existing characters across the combined world of Street Fighter, Final Fight, and technically Saturday Night Masters Slam as well.

Hell, it would be fun to see some references to other Capcom properties like Mega Man, Resident Evil, and Devil May Cry as well even if they aren’t Street Fighter-themed.

With Kimberly studying Buchinryu under Jay, there’s also at least a good chance that he or Maki will be hanging out in Metro City as well, which fans will surely appreciate.

It looks as if we’ll get to see more of what SF6’s World Tour has to offer on April 20th, and we can’t wait to see how many references and characters Capcom will be able to introduce to put into their new take on the story mode.
