Albama Arby employee arrested for throwing hot grease at a customer

An employee of Arby in Hueytown, Alabama was arrested Saturday after dumping hot grease on a customer, according to the Hueytown Police Department.

Officials arrived at the scene after a “report of an altercation between an employee and a customer,” the Whitetown Police Department wrote in Share on Facebook. Paramedics immediately arrived at the scene to treat the client, who suffered burns from hot grease thrown by the detained employee, according to the publication.

An Arby spokesperson told Insider in a statement that the employee has been fired and that the company is working with local law enforcement.

“The actions of the former employee of Hueytown, AL, were reprehensible,” the spokesperson said. “We have immediately terminated the perpetrator, and are cooperating with local authorities in their investigation. Our hearts are with the guest, and we are working to help support his recovery.”
