Red Demers throws Angels harmless, Anthony Rendon smashes Homer’s easy

Los Angeles Angels The rookie Red Demers threw no hitter against Tampa Bay Rays Tuesday evening – second class in the major disciplines this season.

Dettmers threw 108 throws, hit two and walked one hit in a 12-0 Angel Burst Over Rays. He pushed Yandy Diaz out to take down Andrew Velasquez to finish the match.

“I thought that was a very obvious mistake,” Walsh said. “I expect to do this play most of the time, so I would definitely complain if they called it a knockout.”

Dettmers completed his first Angels no-hitter team since 2019 when Taylor Cole and Felix Pena reunited to face off against Seattle Mariners. It was the team’s first home game since Tyler Skaggs’ death.

Detmers is the youngest left-handed archer since Clyde Wright in July 1970.

“He was much better in attendance tonight. He looked and felt the role,” Angels coach Joe Maddon said. “I hope we get a lot of leftovers from that in the future, because he’s capable of it. Maybe not a hitter, I’m just saying that’s how he should deliver. That’s what it should look like often.”
