The Patriots finally released something specific about Mac Jones’ injury

It’s been a wicked week for New England Patriots fans.

On Sunday, as the Patriots quarterback Mac Jones Helped out in the locker room, they must have been speculating how long he would be staying outside. IR in the short term, perhaps? What if Jones can’t come back this season? What is tight cord surgery anyway?

This was followed by four press conferences filled with “Day by day” and “we’ll seeFrom New England coach Bill Belichick when asked about Jones’ injury and condition.

Jones held his own press conference on Monday, in which he said that “Take it day by dayHe advised reporters to ask Belichick if they needed to know exactly what his injury was.

“I think he likes answering these questions,” Jones addedThen he laughed.

Then came reports that Jones was exercising on Fridays (which is not the same as his practice). Can he play on Sunday after all?

Well, on Friday afternoon, New England fans got one final thing: The Patriots injury report Jones was included in Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers due to an ankle injury.

In Sunday’s 37-26 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, defensive end Calais Campbell landed on Jones’ legs as the quarterback passed the Patriots’ last offensive game. Jones jumped off the field On his right leg, apparently unable to bear the weight of his left leg.

Thursday, Belichick said If Jones can’t play, Brian Hoyer will start at the New England quarterback. The start will be Hoyer’s 40th regular-season NFL game, which is in his thirteenth season.

On Friday, Belichick detailed what it would take Jones to get back on the field.

“Ultimately, that will be a decision the doctors make, in consultation with Mac, of course, as we would with any player,” Belichick said. “He’s no different than any other player. I mean he is, but I’m just saying the process is the same. Medical evaluation, talk to the player, and as a coach, you can have the information you get at any time and make a decision, if there’s a decision to be made. If there’s no decision to be made medically, I’m out. But if there’s a decision to be made, if the player is at X percent, he can do it. The player feels they like doing it. He’s ready to play. Then I’ll make a decision. Do I want this? The player at X percent?or someone else, let’s call it, 100 percent?

“But often it doesn’t get to that point. Sometimes it does. If so, that would be my decision, in consultation with the player, usually with his coach or the coaching staff.”

The Patriots and Packers will meet at 3:25 p.m. CST Sunday at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. CBS affiliates are set to broadcast the game.
