We finally know when God of War Ragnarok will release: Sony today confirmed the release date for Ragnarok on PS4 and PS5 of November 9, 2022, which makes it good for frequent reassurances that it will be available this year. The much-anticipated release date was announced as part of a new short CG trailer, which you can watch below. It shows Kratos and Atreus competing against different enemies and talking about not being alone, before battling what appears to be Fenrir.
Along with the news, Sony also revealed that pre-orders for God of War Ragnarok will begin on July 15 (starting at 7AM PT/10AM ET for those in the US) and showed off some special editions that will be available. Pre-ordering any version will provide you with a set of snow-themed items for Kratos and Atreus to wear.
For the different versions of the game, there will be four versions of Ragnarok available for purchase: Standard Edition, Digital Deluxe Editions, Collector’s Editions, and Jotnar Editions. The last three include access to the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game; If you buy the standard PS4 version, you’ll have a $10 upgrade option to get the PS5 version. Pricing for these versions hasn’t been announced yet, but the Jotnar version in particular looks like a high-priced option, as it includes a vinyl record, pin set, canvas map, 16-inch Mjolnir replica, and more.
Ragnarok was previously confirmed to launch in 2022 for PS4 and PS5 after being delayed last year. a Ranking board menu In South Korea, it was recently suggested that the Sony Santa Monica-developed action game is already nearing the finish line, although Sony has yet to provide a more specific release date. Cory Barlog, who directed the previous game in the series, provided an update to the project in April, saying that Developers are ‘perfect’ and “head down, hard working”. Since then, developers in the studio have been harassed for the lack of a release date, with reports that it is set to be announced in late June.
There’s still a lot we don’t know about Ragnarok, although it’s a direct sequel to 2018’s God of War and continues the story of Kratos and Atreus as they deal with the wrath of the Norse gods. This will conclude the Norse chapter of the franchise, as Sony Santa Monica wanted to avoid making this part of the story too difficult.
