Diablo Immortal microtransactions made $24 million in two weeks

Date:

Diablo Immortal appears to be off to a strong start, with the mobile focus on the Blizzard franchise generating over $24 million in revenue in its first two weeks.

As I mentioned PCGamesN, industry tracking website AppMagic He shared some interesting tidbits of data for the free game Diablo Immortal along with microtransaction details, including that the US and South Korea spent the most money and that the game had been downloaded more than five million times.

The US accounted for 26% of all global downloads and 43% of the previously mentioned revenue. When talking about revenue, South Korea ranks second with 23% and Japan third with 8%.

These impressive numbers were achieved even though many players were annoyed with Diablo Immortal’s microtransactions. Certain players have complained that getting the best Immortal loot seems too difficult without spending a lot of money, and even then this loot is not guaranteed.

In our Diablo Immortal review in progress, we said, “I’m just getting started on my Diablo Immortal journey, but I love what I’ve played so far. The combat looks solid and heavy, with plenty of skill options to build, well-rounded and fun combat approaches. The story moves at a fast pace, and unlocks steadily new areas, while several character progression systems ensured that I felt like I was always making progress and getting stronger.

“And with over 20 hours of micro-transaction-free gameplay behind me, there’s obviously plenty of content to enjoy before you need to think about spending money, so this is a game to try before you buy.”
